Hasta la Vista, Amigos...
« on: May 16, 2020, 10:46:18 AM »
Since we moved back to Washington in 2012, the WA coast has been our "get away" location, co, as I talked about briefly, (or not so briefly) in Dec. 2018, we sold our house in Bremerton and moved full time to Ocean Shores. (with all the good and bad that brings)
So...since we now "live in paradise," we have "hung up our keys" and sold the Winnebago. Sad moment for me...I've RV'd in one way or another since the mid-70's when I drug a little "camp trailer" around from construction jobsite to jobsite.

A lot of new "faces" here...and some old familiar ones.

We went on the RV rally to Yellowstone set up by Kim...had an absolute blast. Perhaps our most fun vacation ever. Saw parts of the park we had never seen before, at a time of year we had never visited, and met some GREAT people.

Thanks to all the folks who replied to my many questions about repairs and problems, and thanks for always having an extra chair and "beverage" around the campfire.

We sold our coach in December, 2016, but I still hang out here. Too many friends, old and new, to leave behind.   Like you, we have changed our definition of Paradise to be one without wheels (ours is a cottage in Black Mountain, NC), and with both pluses and minuses associated.  No regrets, just many fond memories.

So, look at it as a new chapter in your life and make the most of it.  Hasta la Vista!

"You can check out, but you can never leave" ;D  I would think that it would be hard to shun the rv life and the related folks after such a lengthy time on the road.

Enjoyed meeting you at Yellowstone, Boomer. Even though you've hung up the keys, that doesn't mean you can't show up here whenever you like. We have a number of folks here who hung the keys long ago, and you're more than welcome to be among them, if you so choose.

Thanks folks. I may indeed stop in from time to time...just to make sure you're all behaving yourselves...and join in when you're not. 8)

What a lovely spot, we stayed in the Casino last year although the weather wasn't great at the time, those beaches are spectacular.

We live in Ferndale (near Bellingham),and like to get to the coast as much as we can. Usually we stay in one of the state parks. I always try to find some razor clams in the restaraunts there. I would love to move to Ocean Shores!

Just passing through...

Jeff, come on down...plenty of nice houses here for sale!! I've never developed a taste for razor clams...or any shellfish, for that matter.

We loved that area with the outstanding beaches. It must be paradise after dealing with Bremerton and Seattle ::). And the seafood! I couldn't get enough of it.
