Pretty much what the topic says.  Cost for US residents is about $50 along with some time to do paperwork.

For someone that frequently crosses over and back between the US and Canada, it may have some advantages, but none that aren't already served by a passport.  It also uses RFID with all the associated security flaws.  Of course, the new passports also have RFID.

I live just across the border in Blaine, WA, cross frequently for business and pleasure. NEXUS is MORE than worth getting. A special lane is dedicated to card holders, often you drive right up and through. Passport holders can be backed up as long as 2-4 hours!!! And, new construction on the US side is beginning this week, will reduce entry gates to TWO for 2 years!
Sumas is a better crossing if you don't have NEXUS, especially on the weekends.
