Summerset Singers virtual video

The Summerset Singers had a pretty good first attempt at a virtual video:

Well worth watching.
In my singing days (before I lost my voice) I really wanted to sing with this group (then 80 voices), but you have to be a Summerset resident.

I was honored to be invited to sing a solo of the Welsh classic 'Ar Hyd Y Nos' to the chorus in Welsh (they were learning/practicing it in English - 'All Through The Night').

When I walked on stage I muttered "I haven't sung this since I was a kid". When I came off stage, I talked to their sound guy and asked how it sounded. He said "when you introduced yourself, I knew you had a BIG voice, and I was ready for you. When you hit the first note, I turned the volume all the way down, and you sounded great".

Thanks Larry. I assume you heard the guy in the first clip sing the wrong word "special chord" instead of "secret chord". It's tough to go back and edit.

With our home base of Iowa being the nationís current hot spot, our church has yet again pushed back in-person services, now set for mid-October. Even then we arenít going to be able to sing in church due to aerosol transmission risks. Instead the choir is going to try a few virtual pieces ourselves, one or two this fall, and then a few for Christmas instead of our regular big concert. Tonight we had a virtual hymn sing, and I realized just how rusty my voice is! It is hard to be a vocal musician in these times.
