Last weekend while we were at a rally at the Sanford Yacht Club near Geneva, FL, we had a small amphibious plane practicing touch and go's on the St. Johns River behind the club. The pilot forgot to raise the landing wheels while touching and the plane came to a halt in the water. Pictures are below:

"There are more planes in the water than submarines in the sky"..

(an unknown, but wise, author).....bill

In the early 70's I had an airplane customer who wanted an amphibian but knew he would not use it much so went partners with two others and bought a SeaBee.

1st partner got his rating and immediately landed gear up on a hard surface runway. Eight months later they got it back in the sky and second partner landed gear  down on the water!

My friend never got to take it north fishing which was his dream. ??? ???

I have a freind who flys rotary wing

He called his insurance agent one day "A telephone pole hit my helicopter"

You can more or less imagine what the agent said...

Fact is: A telephone pole really did hit his 'copter. Which was tied down inside the hanger at the time of the impact  The bird was TIED DOWN when it happened
