The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is looking for interested, reliable and committed volunteers who would like to live at the Merrill Lake campground during the summer months to provide a positive, helpful and informative DNR presence as camp hosts.  Merrill Lake is located about an hour NE of Vancouver and is one of the premier fly-fishing only lakes in Washington.  This small 9-site primitive campground is nestled in amongst a patch of old growth forest near the base of Mount St Helens. The host pad will accommodate a 24-foot RV, with septic hookup.  There is no phone but radio is provided.  Generator is provided.

Hosts have two primary duties ? to conduct general campground maintenance, and to act as a point of contact for campers. To inquire about a volunteer host position, please contact Carlo Abbruzzese, Natural Areas Manager, at (360) 274-2056.
