As a community, we've spent many hours over the years understanding and educating others on various RV-related terms. Many of these terms are delineated in our Glossary of RV Terms, which can be found by clicking the Glossary button above.

Meanwhile, I've been having an interesting education in the equivalent (or not) terms used in some other countries. In the UK, for example, terms equivalent to our weight ratings are:

Code:
Amerispeak                                                   Britspeak
UVW       Unladen vehicle weight                     UW      Unladen weight
GVWR     Gross vehicle weight rating                MAM     Maximum authorised mass
GCWR     Gross combined weight rating                        Train weight

More information can be found at direct.gov.uk.

Will you be updating the Glossary with these equivalents?

I briefly considered creating a different 'Britspeak' glossary but, for the relatively few terms in question, I'll add them to the existing glossary.

BTW another one:

Boondocking/dry camping  =  wild camping (presumably, camping in the wilds).

I think it is better to have them in one glossary anyway, since any visitor here will have to deal with both terms. List them both separately (e.g. "Train Weight - see GCWR") and within the definition of the US term, e.g. "GCWR ...Also known as Train Weight in the UK".

Glossary updates complete. Click the Glossary button in the toolbar above.
