You should be able to single-click to open it. Place your cursor directly on the thumbnail and try again. If that doesn't work, right-click on it and try using "Open" or "Open With" and see if that works. Is it possible you have a pop-up blocker and it thinks it's a pop-up? If so, there should be a message to that effect near the top of your screen. Maybe you need to set it to 'allow pop-ups from this website' or something like that.
