Sounds like a fun group. Wish we could be there. Gas prices and laziness disrupted our Easter Atlanta trip.

Enjoy

It's getting to look more and more like we'll have to chose between the Keys or the Rally as the only open sites at the State Parks seem to be into May.  When I get back south I'll try calling to see if the electronic reservation sites haven't been updated, and we can get onto a site late April.  If so, then we'll swing up to Nashville as I'd like to meet people who've been so nice in the forum.

Ya but ;)  This could be our only opportunity since there should be a lot fewer people around, and next year we're only in Florida for a short time.  Besides, sitting here in Halifax, with more of the white sunshine coming at me, the thought of warmth is awfull enticing.  And what's worse, is DW sitting in the coach in St Petes laughing at me.  Not even the thought of shaken, stirred or straight liquer is taking the pain of these last 2 weeks away.

Yes and to add insult to injury, our neighbour just rang our doorbell, and my car had slid down the driveway into the road because of the snow on the driveway.  Now I do need a drink!!!!  I can't wait to get back to Florida.

We plan to be there.
Still don't have my work schedule.
But will do everything we can to be there.
Giles and Suzanne.

Hi Giles & Suzanne,
Hope you can  manage it - would love to meet you. I won't add your name to the list until you get your schedule squared away and you make reservations at the park. Let me know.

Suzanne and I have made reservations for May 8 thru 11.
It is about 100 miles from where we live. It is going to be our first rally.
We cannot wait to meet y'all.  Giles.

This is a great rally to be your first.  Wish we could attend but have other commitments.  I am sure you will enjoy meeting framily and the activities.  Have Fun.

Here's a bit more info on the agenda...

Nancy & I will grill dogs & burgers for everybody on the first official night, Wednesday Thursday, May 8th.  We will supply the meat, so if they rest of you could bring some rolls & chips & paper plates napkins, and maybe even a mac or potato salad, we can have a great spread without anybody working too hard. As usual, bring your own drinks.

The group gathers every late afternoon for  Happy Hour(s), usually around 4 pm and lasting till? Folks usually bring hors d'oeuvres of all sorts and often there is enough to constitute dinner. An evening camp fire continues the fun - if anybody can bring fire wood it will be appreciated, but we can always chip in and buy some locally.

We can do a  pot luck dinner one evening if you all like - it's up to you folks. We can talk it over when we gather.

A tradition at the SE Rally is the Men's Breakfast, where the men cook and clean and the ladies eat and enjoy.  I suggest we do the breakfast ]Friday[/s]  Saturday morning (about 10 a.m. - no need to rush into things!).

Saturday evening all who are interested will journey into Nashville for the Grand Old Opry Show. There is a 6:30 pm show and a 9:30 but I suspect the 6:30 will be the best choice, since it is about 25 miles away.  We will make final plans on Thursday night and one of us can go into Nashville and get tickets (or buy online).
See Opry.com

If some of the ladies want to plan a shopping trip  in Nashville, they can get together and decide after we all get there.

The early Saturday show at GOO is the one that's televised so it's usually better. If you have enough interest, contact group sales and you'll get better seats for a cheaper price (can't remember how many qualifies as a group). It's a great show.

Count us in for anything you all like. We love Nashville, the Opry, the burgers, the campfire, and mainly, good Company.
Will be glad to bring firewood if needed, or anything else you need. Suzanne is not a spender, but she loves to shop. She is quite a cook to, so count on us for help on this; just suggest.

Gary,

I have to stop reading this thread. I'm already hungry and know I can't make it!!! :)

Same here Jim.  We have enjoyed the Southeast Rallies we have attended and know just how enjoyable they are.  Even when we eat more than we should. ;)

I am happy to report that once again Lazy Days RV Supercenter (Tampa, FL) has agreed to provide refreshments for a "social hour" at our rally and has provided me with some certificates good for a free stay at their Rally Park for those who may be interested in visiting their dealership.  You don't have to buy anything to enjoy the refreshments - or even to take advantage of the 2 free nights at Rally Park (but a salesman will call and offer to show you around if you do stay there).

Unless they have changed there will be no high pressure sell pitches either.  Just a great opportunity to enjoy the Rally Park and if interested look at RV/s.  Glad to hear Lazy Days are providing some support Gary.
