This is an update for those of you who may not yet have read on the Moab thread that Barb Weimert has experienced some significant health issues lately.
Frank and Barb joined us in Monument Valley on 4/24/08. Barb did not go on our Valley of the Gods day trip with Frank, and their friends Lois and Dick, as she was not feeling well. When we returned from our day trip Barb was feeling worse . On 4/25 Frank decided to take Barb to the Doctor in Blanding. Doctors at Blandings made the call to send Barb to a larger hospital so she was transported by ambulance to Monticello, Utah. While Terry and I were on route to Moab an ambulance passed us with red lights, I wondered (correctly) if this might not hold Barb. Doctors there determined that Barb's symptoms warranted the skills of Cardiac and Pulmunary specialists. she was airlifted from Monticello on the night of 4/25 at 10pm and arrived at Intermountain Medical Center in SLC at 12:15am 4/26, which probably saved her life.
She was admitted to intensive care and it was determined that she had blood clots in lungs and heart difficulty. Frank drove his motorhome to VIP KOA in Salt Lake . News today 4/29 from Frank indicates that Barb is now eating food, and took a short walk. An angiogram yesterday indicated no heart blockage. Barb's sleep apnea is something that now will require a CPAP machine. Doctors think she may be discharged from intensive care by Thursday. Frank says Barb is now willing to follow suggestions from physicians.
I hope you join me in wishing the very best for Barb and support for Frank as they deal with her health issue crisis.
