Jeep valve stem issues

We are on our way from the Forum's Moab rally to the Lebanon one. Traveling thru the Kansas City area, we decided to stop in Harrisonville, MO to visit the PressurePro headquarters and meet the principles in person. Talked a bit about marketing and technical issues and was given the following information.

PressurePro has had issues recently with Jeeps that came with a factory installed tire pressure monitoring system. Apparantly, the valve stem used is an metal that is subject to pitting and corrosion. If and when this occurs, and the reported incidences were on older Jeeps with more time to develope the corrosion, the sensor (and this would be applicable to all screw-on TPMS sensors) could become fused to the valve stem. This could require replacement of both the defective valve stem and the sensor.

It is recommended that you periodically remove the sensor and lubricate the threads on the valve stem.

I heard similar was happening to Ford or GM don't remember which. 

That's possible Ron, but PressurePro's tech guru only indicated a problem with Jeeps. They use a different valve stem than the other makes.
