We just purchased an ultra-lite Shasta Capri, which should only be about 6,000 lbs fully loaded (probably less than that).

In your opinion, will a 2005 Dodge 1/2 ton with Hemi do the job pulling it okay?.  Do we have to have the 3.92 rear end, or will the standard one (rated to pull 7900 lbs) be okay?  The 3.92 is difficult to locate in our rural area.

Yes, we do plan on pulling it up and down mountains in the Pacific NW.

Thanks in advance for responses.

Well, if the standard rear axle is rated for 7900 lbs, it should be OK.  They all pull pretty good - it's the stopping and emergency handling that is the concern.
