Tropical Storm Edouard suprised us and made landfall during the night instead of this morning as predicted.  It also came ashore farther East than predicted.  The original path showed it making landfall right at Galveston Texas, but it turned more North during the night and came ashore between Sabine Pass and High Island Texas which is just South of Beaumont and Port Arthur Texas.  Thankfully it did not strengthen to Hurricane status before making landfall.  Damage looks to be minimum but there are about 8,000 people without power this morning.  We were lucky not to be one of those.  We didn't need another hurricane like Rita which hit here almost 3 years ago.  There are still people recovering from that one.  Thank God for small blessings--and big ones too.

We had been watching the progression fo the storm too and glad it didn't turn into a full blown hurricane.  Our daughter and her family are in League City, TX.  Glad all is well.
