I'm having this weird problem.

Sometimes the A/C & Fan doesn't work.

I can hear the A/C compressor kick on when on A/C.

I can hear the motor hum when just on Fan.

So far this has only happened in the drive way - hooked up to a 120v, 20AMP with a 10 foot extension cord.

I know that could keep the A/C from working, but when it works, even it the drive way, it's works fine.

I had this to the dealer for a week, they could not reproduce the problem.

I know that is low AMP for the A/C, but it seems like the fan should work no matter what?

As mentioned, I car hear the fan motor and A/C compressor hum.  So, the switch is good and I don't 'think' power is the issue.  The last time this happened, I got on top my rig and checked the fan (made sure it turned), and it seemed fine too.

Now I might get up in the morning and check it again, and it might just start working.

Any ideas? ???

Thanks as always!

What model Duo-Therm is this? How many BTU? Have you tried turning the thermostat selector switch to FAN only to see if the fan works?

Personally, I suspect you need a 30 amp circuit at least.

Also I'd look at the length & wire size of the extension cord too.  Wires too small or a long cord and/or both will reduce the ampunt of current and voltage available to the AC unit.
