Can I ask why are you using a tow dolly on a Jeep Wrangler? Haven't you read the Owner's Manual?

does it say not to?

We've been having a great summer with our 24' Coachmen that we purchased in April. We love it, but I already have 2 foot-itis. I'm sure we'll stick with it for a couple more years though.  ;)

I agree with John, you don't want to tow it on a dolly unless you drop/remove the rear driveshaft.  They are meant to be towed four-down for a reason.  By having the rear axle and driveshaft turning and not the front driveshaft and axles even with the transfer case in neutral you end up with what is called viscous coupling and are basically shearing the fluid creating a lot of heat that will eventually damage transfer case components.

There are some two-wheel drive Wranglers (yes they do exist) that are ok to tow on a dolly but not the four-wheel drive version.  They are recommended to be towed four-down or on a trailer but not a dolly.

Mike.

at the shell station I found to have a perfectly level pad, I use it for various vehicle things, here I wanted to see the rear end sag of the Avalanche, the battery cradle, and a couple other little things

I guess this member has never come back here to explain why he is towing this Jeep on the dolly. I have never seen anything like this when it comes to towing a Jeep. Not only is this not good for it but it looks silly.

Sorry no idea how to post the pic directly. It's telling me file is too large.

Just gave the 2000 Allegro a face lift. Still have to put the hardware back on and the ladder. In our 60s we decided it was a good time to learn how to paint and lay out designs.  Never, ever again.  ;D
