RV manufacturer NuWa Industries has announced that it will quit manufacturing RVs in January, when products already in production are completed. In a letter to dealers, company CEO Mike Mitchell wrote that he could not see enough "light at the end of the tunnel to feel confident that market conditions would improve significantly". . . to continue. The company, which is privately held by the Mitchell family,  is not going bankrupt and will continue to meet warranty claims of its customers. Nuwa will also keep its factory service center open until at least 2010, says Mitchell.

NuWa makes the HitchHiker, SnowBird, and Stow-A-Wa brand fifth-wheels and is located in Chanute, Kansas. They are the oldest existing maker of fifth wheel trailers, dating back to 1969. It is well-respected in the industry for the high quality of its products.

That's bad news/good news for two of our forum members, who recently bought new Hitchikers.

At least they're keeping the service center open and will have parts. Western RV shut down completely.

Sorry to hear they are ending production.  At least they are planning on honoring their commitments to their customers.
