Evening all.  Another day in paradise.  Just finished dinner, and checking in.  Tom, Jolene really liked the picture of her on the bike.

Oh, and my indecisive customer is getting another chance.

Everyone leaving, have a safe trip, for those staying a little while, enjoy!  The traffic will be easier, and the sunsets still spectacular.

For us, when we are done here I think we will spend a couple days in the desert, then up to Parker and boondock at the casino a few days, this will allow a mc ride up to Havasu.

As for Hos skip etc, still trying to make that happen.

I hope someone got a phone # or email address for Joe and Ann Lacey.  We would like to get in touch with them.

We miss you and Pat, also. We don't get to see you guys often enough.

Tonight Fred gave the group a summary of the history of the RVForum and your name was mentioned a couple of times as past attendees. Maybe next year!

Richard and Linda

Sure hope Fred was nice to us! :) It's been too long since we've seen you and Linda. Still think of her every time I take a photo of a flower. Hopefully we'll be back soon. We were just talking about that tonight over dinner with the Brincks.

Tom,

Nice group picture. That must have been quite a run for you from the tripod to the center of the back row. Did you have the timer on 5 minutes or have you been exercising in the gym.
To bad we can't be there this year but I'm sure you all have a good time.

chris

Chris,

I'm glad you spotted Tom. I never expected to see him in the back row!!

Tom,
Great shot of the group. Makes me even more envious that we are not there.

Bill,

If you get a chance try to get to Oatman. It's an old gold mining town on Rt. 66 and quite interesting. Mostly a tourist trap but the miners let the burros run loose after they closed the mine and they take over the town. Great ride on a bike if you are near Laughlin.

Most of the Framily pulled out today but a good number are still here. Of the ones here 16 of us went to The Grubstake for dinner after the 4pm Happy Hour.  10 were at one table & 6 at another table. A Good Time was had by all.

Mike

Thanks to everybody who was at Q to make the week a fabulous time. So nice to renew old friendships and add new members to the framily.

We sure ate well and shopped well and nobody drove into a bog!

Special thanks to Bob B for his organization and photography and Wendy and Mike for their efforts and Helaine for hers at keeping enough organization to give us all things to do and keep the party hardy.

And of course to Tom for keeping us all together year round.

It was great seeing you again Lucy. Hope you can convince George to join you next time.

I forgot to thank Don & Peg for making the coffee every morn and Zuni Jane for fixing my outlet and lots of others who contributed to the general well-being and my particular well-being. Like Sue who gets up early in the morn like I do and Betty who makes us reconsider that and Jeff and Terry who wire up everything that is loose!

We pulled out from the RVForum QZ "get together" this morning and are now in Palm Springs with 50 amp/H20/ and sewer.  ;D

Tim and I both remarked at how pleasant the QZ Rally was, and how much fun we had meeting new friends and renewing old friendships. The weather was a great bonus.

Charlie (standard poodle puppy) was delighted to get some play time in with Jake, the  St. Bernard puppy and Gordon, the lab puppy both yesterday and this morning.  Puppies play so differently from adult dogs.  It was a riot to watch, and Charlie was ever so grateful for some fun time.

Thanks again to Helaine, Wendy (the new Happy Hour Boss) and Don, the morning coffee maker; and to everyone else who made the event a great one!

Hopefully we'll see some of you at "Hop, Skip & Jump".

Three more left Qtz today - Lassens, Sharps, and Bob B. But there are still 10 rigs here (16 people, 5 dogs, 2 cats) and we all enjoyed a campfire and happy hour this evening. Who says the rally ends on Sunday ?? It was a bit colder and windier today than the rest of the week but we don't care. It's 8 degrees and snowing in Denver. And we did suspend the "no dogs" rule and the name badge rule for Happy Hour. Friends of Smoky came to visit ... maybe they'll join us next year?

Bernie and Marlene and Melvin and Sharon did another 4WD run today. Mike and I and Bud and Dixie (Mom & Dad) made a run out to Bouse and the intaglio today, then had lunch at Subway. Would you believe the town is still hopping and the line at the p.o. is still long?

Please join us next year. You won't be sorry.

Wendy

Yup Wendy, we are still going strong out here and having lots of fun!!

Last night word spread about how much fun we are having and we ended up leading two more guests into our secret spot for the nightly campfire.  I had the pleasure of introducing Hazel Bluhm from Texas and her friend Karey (sp?) from California.  Hazel was our co-host at the Brainard Lake campground this past summer and is now hosting at the La Posa East wash just north of us.  We learned that last week she spotted a bobcat and captured some very nice photos of it.  She is a single full timer and really knows how to handle the RV lifestyle.

Hazel lurks in our forum but has not yet chosen to introduce herself.  We hope her experience at last evening's campfire will encourage her not only to come to our rally next year, but join us on a regular basis on the forum. She has many entertaining tales to tell about her full timing lifestyle.

I told Hazel about the oil change guy that was out here this past week to service Terry and Betty's coach and other years has also serviced Russell's coach.  I was trying to get the phone number of that guy and now Hazel would like it also.  Can anyone provide it with a reply to this message?

Our 4 wheel drive a week ago was to the prospector's cabin near the beginning of the ridge ride. Today we went up to the golf course NW of town. Both have changed a lot over the years and not for the better. They both seemed to have lost a lot of the charm they had.

On the way back to the campsite from the golf course we took the back road. The airport is now closed and the road across it is open. We now again have an alternative route between the CG and the Love's/exit 17/Main Event area.

No one left today even though it was a bit cold....ok, it was a lot cold. We had a brief, cold, windy Happy Hour before we all ran for the warmth of our RVs. But the rest of the week is supposed to be much better.

Smokey,

I think we have the number for you.  Tim picked up a business card when we saw him last week.  It's Mobile RV Oil Services, phone number 505-269-1133.  The guys name is Jim Fulkerson.

Fred and I are back home again, and I just wanted to say thanks to all who made the Rally another great success.  Without all the hands stretching out to volunteer for the various tasks on hand, the rally would not go nearly so smoothly.  The weather was certainly the best if not one of the best we've ever had.  Just a few clouds on Friday, but cleared enough for Happy Hour and that's all that counts......  Hope to see many of you at the Hop, Skip, and Jump this spring.  That is, if Fred can keep out of trouble..... ::)  ;D

Het, how did I miss Bib B?  Dang!  I am hoping to take a run out there with the trade I am expecting in.  Should be here tomorrow (thur).  With the lot slowing down I can take off for a bit.
