It looks like E section is full. I don't remember which section that is, but I plan to be in the SD row anyway.
Is there a map of the rally field online?
I really want to go on one of the plant tours. Is there any way to sign up for one in advance?
Call Rosie Dirksen and ask about a plant tour (641-585-6464).
I thought there was a rally park map on-line, but I can't find it if it is. I have one somewhere unless we pitched our GNR 2008 stuff.
Section D (50 amp) is at the far Southwest corner and E is the far Southeast corner (as I recall.) Since the state rows are rotated every year, there is no telling where SD will be You might have a level row (like we did), or you might wind up with lots of boards under the jacks. If it is a real unlevel site, the parkers will help you get situated - they carry lots of lumber with them!
The story of the rally park is an interesting one - it is natural Iowa rolling terrain which was one of the conditions of the land being deeded to Winnebago Industries. It either was, or was going to be a golf course. Don't remember all of the details, unfortunately.
