FYI on this update from the Arizona Department of Transportation. This is on the Arizona side from the dam south to mile post 17.
Delays on US 93 Due to Construction and Spring Break Travelers
The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has begun adding two lanes
to US 93, from Hoover Dam to milepost 17 in a project that will create a
four-lane divided highway connecting to the Arizona approach of the Hoover
Dam Bypass, which is currently under construction.
The following activities will apply on US 93 from Hoover Dam to milepost 17:
a.. Spring break travel peaks during the month of March, there will be
an increase in motorists along US 93 and Hoover Dam heading towards Las
Vegas. Please plan accordingly and allow for extra travel time.
b.. During the week of March 16, pilot cars will be in the area to
escort oversize trucks delivering materials to the construction site.
c.. The Motorist Assist Patrol is in effect along US 93 from milepost 2
to milepost 17. The patrol vehicle will operate from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.,
Thursday through Monday, to offer assistance to distressed motorists.
d.. A no-passing zone is in effect from milepost 9 to milepost 17.
e.. Currently, construction work hours are Monday through Thursday from
7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fridays from 7 a.m. to noon.
f.. The low-frequency radio station is now in place, motorists can tune
in to 1620 AM while driving through the project limits for updated travel
information.
g.. ADOT urges drivers to drive with caution, obey the posted speed
limit signs, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
