Flyfishing in Colorado
« on: March 29, 2009, 12:42:19 PM »
I'm planning on doing a lot of flyfishing this summer in western Colorado, particularly on the Grand Mesa.  Does anyone have any experience fishing there or in the general area?  I'm interested to find out if I can use my float tube or if it will be too cold in the water.  I'll be there from mid-May through mid- September.  Any suggestions for good places to fish, either lakes, streams, or rivers would be gratefully accepted!

While you're waiting for some replies, here are a few links that might be helpful:

Colorado Fishing Guide

I also have a handy dandy book on my bookshelf: Colorado Trout Fishing, Part II, Prime Fishing Locations, by Merton D. Leeper.

Tom,

I have a great book, Official Colorado Fishing Guide, plus www.coloradoflyfishing.us and www.coloradofishing.net.  I have really been studiying all of them, but as you know, one's personal experiences seem to be a bit more helpful.  Thanks for the links.

Understood Denny, and I agree. Looking forward to your CO flyfishing stories and photos. Some of us will be able to learn from your experiences. TIA.
