We had a mini-rally here today even though the wind was blowing like "all get out" and it felt like it was cold enough to snow. Wendy and Mike Lawrence braved the windy-curvy mountain road from Bakersfield up to Kernville, CA....and survived....
They arrived up here yesterday and got all settled in at a National Forest Campground on Lake Isabella. The campground is much closer to the route they are heading out of town on, so it makes it an easy departure for them. We ate at our local place for lunch, then took a ride up the river. They brought, Gordon, their yellow Lab over to play with Charlie. Both dogs had a ball. Poor Gordon was ready to go home after several hours of relentless play from Charlie, our Standard poodle puppy, who is now crashed out in a heap.
We had great fun laughing and playing cards. I made a pot of chili ,which actually tasted pretty good in our cold weather.
Mike has a picture to validate our mini-rally so I'll let him post it.
Thanks again, Mike and Wendy for making the trip up here....It was great seeing you all, including Gordon.
