Love to go camping. looking for a new Sprinter based setup.

Gonna maybe do a conversion myself.

Here's What I Am Looking At:


I am starting a new conversion Project. I want to do a lot of BLM camping out west. Here is what my idea is:

In the end I would like a clean rig, with bed, Emergency ONLY potty, small sink and Microwave.

Of course TV Computer and Internet. Want Day Bed, so it can double a sofa.
 
Mikey, no one is going to read all those links, How about a few simple questions?

We, on the forum, are simple folks and very knowledgeable. Try another route.

Welcome to the forum.  The thoughts of doing your own conversion are interesting.  Are you skilled enough to put this all together?  Have you studied enough Sprinter-based units to have an idea of the floor plan you want that will also allow you to balance weight?
 
I hope you are not planning to run the microwave off batteries and inverter.  How many batteries?  How about heater -- propane?  Water tank?  Grey water tank?  How do you plan to anchor all that Ikea furnature?  Have you done a drawing on the floor plan?

Welcome to the forum Mikey!

IMHO, the Sprinter van of choice is fine for your conversion (a little short for my taste), providing the roof-top factory air conditioning will serve your purpose.
You must run the vans engine to operate this AC unit!...the compressor is under the hood.
Most of your other choices for furniture, microwave, etc. are un-acceptable for camper van use.
 
Hey hit the road jack. I was hoping you would chime in on this . If anyone can stear this guy in the right direction I think it is you. thow I am not sure if mikey is still following this.

The post were just ideas I had on products that could make a quick install. On the other forum they suggested the furniture was too wide.

So I am looking for a premade 30" day bed setup. I will have to look at the weight distribution though. I plan on using a simple container for grey water. Something like removable 5 gallon container. Mainly so I can wash vegetables and such.

I haven't addressed heat although an Atwood propane type heater would be something I might install.

I haven't considered most of the weight or floor plan issues.So I may draw on Google sketch up. If I can't use a lot of preconstructed items I may just look at  predone Sprinters like. I have seen a few Sprinters with Premade furniture and they were done nicely. On the other forum they suggest a simple base for bed instead of furniture. Just looking for more finished look of furniture.
