We enjoyed five days visiting Smoky and Sharon Sheppard in the NFS Campground they manage north of Blackhawk, CO this week.

The 9300' elevation meant lots of cool weather but we had a good time as well as making a couple of day trips to Denver.

Jeff,

It looks like Sue and Sharon are having a great time.  Where is Smoky hiding?  :)

Phil:

Smoky was working so we abandoned him for the day and headed to Denver. ;D

How did that campground work out for runs into Denver? We'll be looking for a place to stay after Cherry Creek SP and the Coke convention and don't particularly want to stay in the city.

Thanks for the picture and even though we know the two gals it is great that you caption the picture.  Looks like they were having a good time.

Wendy:

Leaving around 9:00AM and returning from downtown aroun 3:15PM we made it in 1:00 flat each way. Can't beat the $8.00/night and the company. ;D

When I started looking I realized we haven't mentioned how this great trip through Colorado started with five days in Cortes visiting the Lawrences.

Here is a shot of Wendy, Mike, and Sue at Mesa Verde three weeks ago. Having a retired ranger as a guide has its advantages. ;D

Forgot to mention but say hi to Smokey and Sharon.  Is that park sat. friendly?

We are now in Estes park at Elk Meadows CG. We just spent 5 days with the Sheppards at the NFS Cold Springs CG 5 miles north of Blackhawk on CO 119.

Lorna:

We had a great Sat site at Cold Springs.
