???? After being hit for 5 months with alkali containing water from sprinklers outside our trailer, I find that I cannot get the build up off. I have tried vinegar but with little success. Anybody have any suggestions???? Elaine? Tabacinski

Hi Elaine,

If the build up is on gelcoat I would try a product called Korkay. It is a black streak remover but it does a lot more than that. They say it isn't good for paint but I do use it on our motor coach when I have stubborn streaks or bugs. It softens most anything. I only use it sparingly since our coach is mostly paint.

I've been told that a product called Marykate On & Off Hull Cleaner (designed for fiberglass boats) does an outstanding job on tough stains. See http://www.properautocare.com/maonoffhuboc.html

I've never tried it myself, so cannot give a personal testimonial.

Why do I get the feeling that the main ingredient of the stuff is either hydrochloric or phosphoric acid?  :)
