We have been camp hosts here at Earl Landing, WI for a couple of months and our time is almost up.  This is a beautiful site on the St. Croix NTL Scenic Riverway operated by the National Park Service.  Earl Landing has 11 tent sites and serves a landing for canoes and tubers.  On hot days there are so many tubers that it can be difficult to see the water.  Over the 4th of July weekend 1632 entered the river here.

We have had a great time here and met a lot of wonderful people.  Ruth has indicated a desire to return next summer but we are considering seeing other places.  Undoubtedly we will return sometime.

A few photos are attached.

Looks like a nice place George. Thanks for the photos.

George

Will you be coming to Milwaukee after you are done there?  We will be in Milwaukee until 8/21 and will then head for St Paul for a week.  We would love to see you and Ruth.

Lorna: We were kind of thinking along that line but as it turns out we need to swing through Forest City, Iowa for a little repair.

Sorry to hear that.  Hope the repairs aren't anything serious.  After St Paul we will be heading out to Bozeman, MT. for a week and slowly down to the lot.

The repairs are just to replace a hydraulic motor - not a big deal.
Ed & I will leave the girls at home while we are Calf Creek Utah for Sept. & Oct.  If you come through that way please stop by.

Looks like a nice spot. Glad to see everyone, including the dog, wearing their PFDs. We may put it on our next summer WI/MI/MN trip.

Nice set of photos, George!  Bet you enjoyed the stay there, but also think you'll enjoy some peace and quiet once you leave.  We spent the 4th at a "tubing campground" in northeast Iowa, and though it was fun watching all the "tubers" having a great time, the commotion would get to us after awhile.

Have safe traveling to Forest City and beyond 8)

Thanks Dick & Pat.

Peace & quiet is pretty much the norm here.  Just a few busy days but aside from that we pretty much have the river to our selves.  What a great gig this has been.
