  He sent this link to me because he knows that Flensburg is my birth-town. Flensburg is in northern Germany right on the Denmark Border.

  The pix below show an interesting group of people who cherish the age of steam propulsion.

Are you familiar with the Hjejlen, the oldest steam paddlewheeler still operating, and virtually unchanges since it was launched in 1861.  The Hjejlen sails on the Silkeborg Lakes in Denmark.

I've done considerable reesearch on this particular boat and have hundreds of photographs, videos and even some souvenirs.  Never been on it, never seen it in real life, but have been fascinated by it for years.

Here's a video of the steam engine, virtually unchanged from the original construction
