1988 Elandan 28EU fuel capacity???

I don't know if this is the right place to post this topic since the MH in question is way too old compared to most of the MH's in this forum. Well the thing is that the chassis manual calls for a 40gal. fuel tank for the P30 chassis with an optional 60gal. tank, but when I fueled the last time, I put in 25 gallons and the gauge mark only goes about 1/4. the same has happened the other two times since I bought this MH. Is it possible that I have a 100gal. Tank?? when I looked at it, it looks rectangular in shape. Any ideas?
 
Fred - chassis's are made to the house builder's specifications, so I think your post is in the right place.  If nobody has an idea here, check out the link for classic Winnies in the resources sticky above.  There's also a good chance Winnie owner relations still has records if you provide your VIN or serial number.
