So we no longer call you Calgary John??

We didn't think we should stick with the old hometown now that we live in this great location, with a really neat name! People who see it can't say it and people who hear it can't spell it. LOL ;D

Bob, picked up the list of attendees from another thread.  I see you don't have our last name, it is Gorber, if you want to add it to the list.  Not sure yet when we will head up, or how long we will stay, but since we will only be a couple of hours away in Yuma, and since we are staying at a new to us park, we may make that a last minute decision.  I am getting anxious to be on the road, and anxious to see Framily that we haven't seen in a bit.

Bob - Put down Randy and Debby on your list with our dogs, Lucky and Lucy.  We met Wally & Helaine over the summer in OR and they told us what fun they have at the rally.  This is our first rally and we're looking forward to it.  We'll be arriving on the 16th.

Bob,

You can add Rolf & Shirley Salhus (and Princess) from Apple Valley, MN to your list of those attending the QZ rally.  We're planning oh staying at Mesa for awhile then on to Indio for the FMCA rally before coming to QZ.  Looking forward to it!

Hi Russ.  That sounds great.  If I remember right, we visited at least 3 casinos around Indio last year.  I don't remember which one is which right now but there were quite a few MHs parked in the huge parking lot of one of them.  Which one are you referring to?

Interestingly, I can't find the name in Google. By going to satellite view I can see the place in the triange formed by I-10, Dillon rd, and hywy 86.

Take the Dillon Road exit off the I-10, go south about a mile, casino is on right. Take entrance road toward casino and go past it to truck/RV parking.

The holding area opens on Sunday, the 3rd. The rush will probably be on the 5th.

Bob:

Please add Sharon and Smoky (MT) to the signup list.  Looking forward to seeing you once again old friend!

I hope to arrive early and leave late, maybe even catch the Superbowl there.

Sharon hope to arrive late and leave early.

This debate ought to keep Sharon and I busy at least through Christmas.  I believe I have the edge this year because she won out last year.  On the other hand, she is trying to keep her unbeaten streak going.   ;D

I wonder if anyone will be there during the weeks around Christmas?  I am holding down the fort in Arizona while Sharon flies back to Baltimore for Christmas.  So I am looking for things to do.

The "New Years Unofficial Rally with non-hosts" will be at Catalina State Park, just north of Tucson, from Christmas to New Years. Details here.

Please note, this is a correction from the original post which linked to last year's rally.

Quartzsite 11/29/09

Stopped for the day on our way back from Indio to PHX. We also stopped last week on our way to Indio.

Even in the one week it is noticeable that things are picking up. We are parked on the 14 day BLM land south of I10 to the east of exit 19.

I did a little RV parts shopping (I actually bought something I NEEDED). We did not venture south the the Forum rally location, but we did have lunch and pie at Sweet Darlenes.

Sorry, Again I will not be able to attend.  May have heart surgery in January.  Meeting with the cardiologist Dec 22 at the VAMC in Portland to go over my options.  I don't think this is a good thing either but I am always tinking the worse.  At a minimum I will get a pace maker and defibrillator installed in early to mid January.  I am hoping and praying that this is the best soulition to my problems.

Congestive heart failure is not a good thing.

Now if the good lord is willing I will be there in 2011.  Sorry guys I was looking forward to this trip. Chest Pain and ER visits twice in a week has put me on pretty strict restrictions until my appointments and or procedure.

Papahog, just darned sad to hear that, again. Last year you were sidelined from the same event, too, while I was planning the SF trip with help from many, including you. Sorry to hear it.

Hope they get a good restart for you. I hear that Portland VAMC is a winner. As a matter of fact, I heard that from you - as well as several others.   ;)

Prayers, good luck, and God Bless.

Great to read that you and the Admiral will be with us again, Smoky!!

Right now, my plan is to leave NCal shortly after Christmas and head to QZ. My work has backed up so I just want to park in the AZ Sun an do my thing. Not sure if I will go out to the site right away - but will be close enough to check things out prior to the beginning of RVForum arrivals.

Looking forward to seeing you and Sharon again. BTW, I still have all of the fire starters you gave me last year -- so we are ready for AZ Desert Campfires . . .  :) :)

So sorry to read this news, PapaHog.  :( Was really looking forward to meeting you. Knowing how much you have looked forward to some time in AZ joining up with other Forum members, can imagine the disappointment you must feel.

Yes, hopefully the good Lord "will" be willing as I'm sure you will be in 2011 . . .
