Terry

The holding area opens on Sunday, the 3rd. The rush will probably be on the 5th.

I've always gone in one day early, in the morning & have never had a problem.

Bob:

Please add Sharon and Smoky (MT) to the signup list.  Looking forward to seeing you once again old friend!

I hope to arrive early and leave late, maybe even catch the Superbowl there.

Sharon hope to arrive late and leave early.

This debate ought to keep Sharon and I busy at least through Christmas.  I believe I have the edge this year because she won out last year.  On the other hand, she is trying to keep her unbeaten streak going.  ;D

I wonder if anyone will be there during the weeks around Christmas?  I am holding down the fort in Arizona while Sharon flies back to Baltimore for Christmas.  So I am looking for things to do.

The "New Years Unofficial Rally with non-hosts" will be at Catalina State Park, just north of Tucson, from Christmas to New Years. Details here.

Please note, this is a correction from the original post which linked to last year's rally.

Quartzsite 11/29/09

Stopped for the day on our way back from Indio to PHX. We also stopped last week on our way to Indio.

Even in the one week it is noticeable that things are picking up. We are parked on the 14 day BLM land south of I10 to the east of exit 19.

I did a little RV parts shopping (I actually bought something I NEEDED). We did not venture south the the Forum rally location, but we did have lunch and pie at Sweet Darlenes.

Sorry, Again I will not be able to attend.  May have heart surgery in January.  Meeting with the cardiologist Dec 22 at the VAMC in Portland to go over my options.  I don't think this is a good thing either but I am always tinking the worse.  At a minimum I will get a pace maker and defibrillator installed in early to mid January.  I am hoping and praying that this is the best soulition to my problems.

Congestive heart failure is not a good thing.

Now if the good lord is willing I will be there in 2011.  Sorry guys I was looking forward to this trip. Chest Pain and ER visits twice in a week has put me on pretty strict restrictions until my appointments and or procedure.

Papahog, just darned sad to hear that, again. Last year you were sidelined from the same event, too, while I was planning the SF trip with help from many, including you. Sorry to hear it.

Hope they get a good restart for you. I hear that Portland VAMC is a winner. As a matter of fact, I heard that from you - as well as several others.   ;)

Prayers, good luck, and God Bless.

Great to read that you and the Admiral will be with us again, Smoky!!

Right now, my plan is to leave NCal shortly after Christmas and head to QZ. My work has backed up so I just want to park in the AZ Sun an do my thing. Not sure if I will go out to the site right away - but will be close enough to check things out prior to the beginning of RVForum arrivals.

Looking forward to seeing you and Sharon again. BTW, I still have all of the fire starters you gave me last year -- so we are ready for AZ Desert Campfires . . .  :) :)

So sorry to read this news, PapaHog.  :( Was really looking forward to meeting you. Knowing how much you have looked forward to some time in AZ joining up with other Forum members, can imagine the disappointment you must feel.

Yes, hopefully the good Lord "will" be willing as I'm sure you will be in 2011 . . .

Take care.  :) :)

Maybe you could check the gully and see if the washtubs are there. Larry stashed them before he left.

We're bringing another washing machine tub as well.  It was Karl's.

Robert:

Stay in touch.  BTW I upgraded my Moto Q for a Blackberry Storm.  It is by far the best cell phone I have ever owned.

So send me an email if you arrive in QZ b4 New Years Eve.  I'll respone either via the Storm or the laptop.  Most likely the Storm.  It makes a great spam filter before I download email on to my laptop.

Please add Dave and Sue Hills, (AZ); Dan and Kathleen Tyryfter (AZ) and Stephen and Joan Rosenbaum (AZ) to the roster.  Dave and Sue were at Quartzsite last year but it's a first for the other two couples.  They are looking forward to it!!  Stephen and Joan have a teardrop and are newbies at camping.  The Hills and Tyryfter's probably won't arrive until Jan 22.  We'll be there 1/18.

As I posted in The Shade Tree, I'll miss this year in Quartzsite. So sorry to miss the opportunity to renew friendships with you all. This time was always the very highlight of my year so I will be thinking of you and expecting you to walk and shop even harder for my sake!!

I just had back surgery and will be semi-immobile for 6 more weeks so can't handle my trailer. I'll be thinking of you and wishing for a warm and sunny week and maybe I'll hear a whistle once in a while and know that all is well out there.

Sorry you won't be there Lucy. We'll all try our best to shop enough to make up for you not being there but that's a big shopping bag to fill.

Wendy

My 1st QZ Rallye, Joe & Cricket ferried me from Sky Harbor. La Casa de Amistad stayed in Santa Fe.

Jim & Pat Godward bunked me on their couch, for which I was very thankful.

This year I'm driving myself . . . and have been offered the same bunk!  ;D

I want to see my framily. . . !
