I've never had the urge to buy and fly my own plane, although we have a number of friends who are licensed pilots.
When we're afloat, we see lots of ultralight and small aircraft, some landing on water. I snapped these pics on our last trip. The pilot landed on the water, took aboard a passenger, and took off again. The passenger was taking some aerial shots of our nautical equivalent of a rally. The passenger later told me he was concerned they'd run out of water (runway) before getting airborne.
