I recently purchased a 84 model coachman  30' 454 Chevy class A model.
I kinda bought this fixer upper to help a friend out and really didnt need it or have the time to mess with it, but it ended up in my driveway so here it is.

The steering is kinda squirrley like it has alot of play in it. Seems to be more noticable  at higher speeds. Does this model have king pins or does anyone know of any common steering issues these model have.

No major issues with it just a lot of small things that will take a little time to restore. I already have a winter project but now looks like I have another...
If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it...

Thanks, Robert E. Young Jr.

The most common steering problem is this RV chassis is a sloppy steering bell crank. Replace it with a new one from Henderson Supersteer.

Make sure the front air bags are holding air and inflated adequately for the axle load. Something in the 55-75 psi range is typical, depending on axle rating and actual load.

WOw you had actually manage to find a  coachman with a
mid 80's design well now a days it is very rare to find one
