Hi all, I'm looking to see what I am able to tow with my truck. It's a 1997 Ford F350 4x4 SRW crew cab, 7.3 diesel.
Looking at getting a 5th wheel toy hauler.
Power wise, I'm OK. The truck has a few enigne tweaks to make it good and strong, and the transmission has been built by the best.
I've looked at the Trailer Life guide but it only goes back to 1999, and I am fairly sure Ford changed springs when they went to the Super Duties. If I am looking at the guid correctly, this is what a 99 is good for "F-350 crew cab 4WD SD SRW 7.3 TD** 13,100a,d,g" So a trailer weight of 13,000 correct?

Help.

Thanks in advance.

Sort of.  To allow for truck passengers and cargo, and particularly to allow for the age of that 12 year old truck, I would hold the maximum trailer Gross Vehicle Weight Rating to 11,800 lbs allowing a 10% safety factor.

Got an engine break on that deisel?
