I have a hole that I patched in my ceiling, from my youngest kid who accidently punch a hole in the cabover and I was wondering if I could just paint that section of the celing with interior paint rather than have to re-wallpaper it.

This is RV type wallpaper, apparently fused to a hard cardboard backer.....

You should be able to paint it - the wall covering is very tightly glued to the backing. I'd use a latex paint and avoid soaking it with too much paint, to make sure the paint did not loosen the glue. Use multiple fairly thin coats rather than soaking it with one heavy coat.

It's funny how kids accidentally punch holes in things!  I have  7 and 9 year old boys and the other day, my 7 year old accidentally punched his big brother in the eye! ;D
Nice to know about the paint on the interior, have some work to do as well. :'(
