Discovery Dashboard Cover
« on: November 11, 2009, 07:05:29 PM »
Just purchased a Discovery and the only place to park it is facing south. This home has lots of dashboard space and we don't want visitors to start tossing things on it plus the sun will beat down on it everyday.

Have spent about an hour online trying to find a dashboard cover, didn't see anything on the Fleetwood site, so I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions.

I went to a fabric shop and bought a piece of vinyl that was the same color as my dash.  Cut it to fit and it works perfectly.  Guess you could say it was fit made!!!!

If you're going to Quartzsite, there's a guy there with a little shop who makes them to order. Does very good work.

I like the dash space on my D. In my winter spot it is parked facing North. I have the curtain pulled almost shut except for 3' on the passenger side 24/7
The drivers side window faces the west that has the afternoon sun. I have those windows covered with reflective insulation board. Saves the AC a lot of work.
Front windshield also has one of those sunscreens all the way across it on the inside.

And the dash area supports a Laptop, paper confetti shredder, 10,000,000 candle power lantern, electric bug zapper, GPS receive, some pictures in frames and a big box of dog bones.
And other items at times. So I use all that space that TT & 5th wheelers say are just a wasted space on a MH.  ::)
Not that there is anything wrong with that thinking.

It's also a great place for the dog to sleep. And at Christmas, you can pile all the presents on the dash.
