Travelling Thanksgiving W/E
« on: November 13, 2009, 05:37:46 PM »
I just realized that my planned departure date is the Friday after your Thanksgiving.  Plans call for me to skirt Boston, Hartford over to I81 on Saturday, then down to  close to Nashville on Sunday.  Is traffic going to be bad enough to have a major impact on our plans?  I've never driven in these areas Thanksgiving Week End.

The Sunday after Thanksgiving is the busiest day of the year on the PA turnpike and many of the other highways in the PA. In addition to all the holiday travelers, Monday is the opening day of the PA deer season, and PA is a big hunting state. Bad weather can add to the problems, so keep an eye on the weather forcasts. If you don't absolutely have to travel on those days don't.
