In late September/October 2010 a friend and I will be raising funds in aid of Rays of Sunshine Children?s Charity. We will be cycling 600 miles from Los Angeles to the Grand Canyon via Las Vegas. We anticipate cycling around 90 miles per day for seven consecutive days with six to eight hours a day in the saddle.

Rays of Sunshine Children's Charity (www.raysofsunshine.com) was formed in 2004 to help children who are living with serious or life-threatening illnesses between the ages of 3-18, across the United Kingdom
It does this by granting these children?s wishes however impossible their wish may seem to them. Purchasing equipment such as electrical wheelchairs and hoists to make their life more manageable. And helping hospitals, specialist schools and hospices improve facilities.
Our names are Robert Stewart a 30 year old pre-analytic supervisor for Quintiles Laboratories and Douglas Sibbald a 28 year old Construction Plant Manager both from West Lothian Scotland. We have raised funds in recent years for Maggie?s centre (cancer care centres) and the British Heart Foundation. Our goal for 2010 is to raise as much funds as possible for a small children?s charity here in the UK. After several weeks of searching we both agreed that Rays of Sunshine?s is a very worthy cause for our challenge. We have set an initial fund raising target of ?6000 with the aim of increasing our target in the summer of 2010.

We will be supported each night by a support driver in a small RV. we will look to pick up the vehicle in LA and drop again in Vegas around 7 or 8 days later. We prefered this option as we have no real fixed daily mileage targets, we can make hay while the sun shines or vice versa. I have contacted a few RV rental companies to look for a little support in the hire of an RV but i have not been successful to date. Some discount would really help out our cause. My question is, does anyone have any ideas?
Does anyone have any friends in the hire industry or know of an individual who hires their small RV. We dont need luxury just somewhere to put our heads at night shower eat and recharge.

I look forward to some of your ideas.
