Location to insert engine code reader on 1997 Adventurer

I have a 1997 Adventurer and need to read the engine codes. Can someone point me in the right direction as to where to insert the code reader.

If it's a P30 Chevy chassis, mine was just to the left of the steering wheel and just under the dash. I think it was an OBD1 not an OBD2 though.
