We are very new to the RV "lifestyle," and, of course, need lots of help regarding different aspects.  We are towing a new 2009 Chevy Cobalt (automatic), behind a 32 ft. Class C.  We noticed that the odometer is registering all the miles we travel.  Is there a way to NOT have this happen???  Is there a fuse you can pull to keep the odometer from registering, but still have the care be towable?  :)

Welcome to the RV Forum, baclyde. Glad you joined us.

It should not accumulate miles when towing. You may have the key in the ON position instead of ACCessory.

You need to read the owner manual for your Cobalt - GM vehicles have a section called Recreational Towing (in the Towing chapter) that covers the instruction for 4 down towing, if that is an allowed method.

I found an electronic  copy on the Chevrolet website at

http://www.chevrolet.com/assets/pdf/owners/manuals/2009/2009_chevrolet_cobalt_owners.pdf

and here is what it says:
The vehicle may be dinghy towed from the front with
all four wheels on the ground following these steps:
1. Set the parking brake.
2. Turn the ignition key to ACC/ACCESSORY to
unlock the steering wheel.
3. Shift an automatic transmission to N (Neutral) or a
manual transmission to Neutral.
4. Release the parking brake.
To prevent the battery from draining while the vehicle is
being towed, remove the following fuse from the floor
console fuse block: 8 (Ignition Switch, PASS-Key? III+).
See Floor Console Fuse Block on page 5-119 for
more information.
Remember to reinstall the fuse once the destination has
been reached.
Notice: If 65 mph (105 km/h) is exceeded while
towing the vehicle, it could be damaged. Never
exceed 65 mph (105 km/h) while towing the vehicle.
