Taking pets to the US

Hi, has anyone out there taken a dog on an extended vaccation to the US, say a year or two. Does it create big probs when leaving the country every 6mths like it appears it the norm? Be warned if you answer this question we will probably have about another 100 to follow

We have taken the furball across several times and have yet to be questioned. One Canadian customs officer near had a coronary when Lulu stuck her head up to see what was going on just as the arm reached thru the window LOL. Be sure the shots are up to date and the paper work is available just in case.
