My battery isolater failed. After reading many online comments about these failures, overheating 12v solenoids because they may be running for hours @ 13 to 14.4 volts , installing inline resistors to lower voltage, ETC, we ordered a WR 586-903 15V, 200 amp continuous, 600 amp surge, silver contact, 32.8 ohm coil from www.onlinecomponents.com for 39.52+shipping. They have the same in 12V WR 586-902 with 21 ohm coil. There specs do not give the pull in & drop out voltages.

We did take our old isolater apart, it appeared to be stuck, but not the contacts. Contacts looked good, coil looked burned, although it did not show open. Not sure, but I think it measured maybe 8 ohms, & would not close @ 12 or 14 volts DC.

What is your opinion, did we make the right decision to order the 15 volt coil?
