I'm on the brink of purchasing my very first RV!!!
I've been overwelmed with all the choices but I think I've narrowed it down.
I'm looking at the Freedom Express 295 RLDS, or a Jayco.

I'm also getting varried opinions from salesman on the siding.  Any thoughts?

Welcome to the forum.  You will find a wealth of information here.
Opinions, Yes, got lots of them.
First one, buy used. I can guarantee you will not keep your first RV for very long and it is far easier to swallow the depreciation of a used sale vs the hugh depreciation of a new one that you sell in a year or two.
Second one, do not listen to a salesman.  Remember his only concern is to make money off you.
Third, dry and shipping weight numbers are meaningless. Lacking true ready to camp weights always, I repeat, ALWAYS use a trailers GVWR for your base line calculations.
Fourth, your TV (tow vehicle)  may or may not be sufficient for what ever you fall in love with.
Fifth, Do your homework.  Trailers have a tendency to leak, so a thorough inspection is necessary to ensure you don't buy a leaker and end up with a lot of work.
That should get you pointed in the right direction
