Good show, Chris!  It's been too long since you've been able to join us, so that must mean your ol' bod is working better.  At least I hope so.  See you at Moab!

We are really looking forward to Moab & meeting everyone.  We are definitely new to the southwest.  This will be our longest trip by far.  I can't wait to drive the trails with people who are experienced & familiar with the area.

Mike,

If you've never been to the Moab area, you're in for a real treat.  It's unlike any other place you've been in the U.S.  Very special.  Hope you enjoy hiking and four-wheeling.  Both are great there.

The Brewers have spoken with Portal RV Park.  They know a few of us have expressed interest in wanting to drive some more difficult trails with a guide.  We (Jerry and Ardra) plan to rent a Jeep Rubicon because our car cannot handle the harder trails.

Doug Sorensen, the owner of Portal RV Park, would like to know if anyone else in our group also wants to rent a Jeep through Portal.  We suggest you contact Doug and get the information on renting a Jeep if you want to join us for a more difficult four-wheel-drive excursion.  Doug's phone number is 434-655-5500 or you might find him at the Portal number.  He also has email:  [email protected].

This is just a heads-up about one of the things we might want to do in Moab.

Ceemike,

Not sure yet.  Will let you know.  We will rent it with Frank & Barb.

Jerry,

A couple of years ago we rented a jeep Wrangler Unlimited (new). Rental place really did not want it to go on "hard" trails and made us responsible for everything including the undercarriage.

Next time I would rent from the folks that have older jeeps.

When 4 wheeling in the back country, the greatest concern is for things that are vehicle breaking. Your back should be fine.

On Friday May 13th the Portal RV Resort will sponsor a guide for a "not to difficult" Trail Ride so most folks can go.  Then they will sponsor a dinner in their group area when we return so put this on your calender.

Randy, it's a different mindset - airplane drivers desperately avoid rocks and mountains and try to stay out of gullies - I have to reprogram some things...should have some of that done by May...  8)

These are called Sky Jeeps by some...  http://www.zenithair.com/video/701-640x480.wmv
