I'm on my way to our doctor to pick up the handicapped parking permit application. Will you guys be in regular (limited generator hours) handicapped parking or full generator handicapped parking? Which of us will be the gimps and which the non-gimps???

Bernie - I'm blind. Mike and Marlene are gimps. Sadly, you're probably the healthiest one in the bunch :) We're going into the handicapped generator section, NOT 24-hour.

Jim - While the handicapped placard is handy, being a non-gimp is always preferable :)

We must be the only ones going into the general-electric section at the FMCA rally!  We don't have a genturi thing and don't want to park by someone who also doesn't have a genturi thingie.  ::)  Plus we have the animals and don't want to run the generator while we are gone.  Sounds like everyone will be scattered all over the place.

George, this is the first year that doctor's appointments are "running" our life.  All we did was go in for an annual checkup in March and look what happened.  However that visit probably saved Tim's life, so I shouldn't complain.

Marsha,

Tim could make one of those thingies in a morning.  A elbow and an adapter from the auto store a couple of parts and screws from the hardware store, some plastic tubing from a hardware or ???? store and a hour or so and you will have one.    :)

Marsha - For what you're paying for the electric, you could buy one of those genturi thingies. Of course, it is a whole lot easier to leave the A/C on while you're plugged into shore power. And no matter how far apart we are, we'll all manage to find each other for Happy Hour....maybe we could have a floating HH, generator, electric, handicapped....give us a chance to visit all the areas. Of course, if Livingston is at the rally, we can just congregate at their Airstream for free wine !!

Well, we're finally on the road after a 5 week delay. Goodyear has been over 110? most days for the last couple of weeks and I really wanted to get out. With the heat and 48 hour parking limit in our development, it was a push to get the coach loaded and the house closed. Marlene tried hard to help but was quite limited.

Marlene was uncomfortable going thru the mountains (we're heading to Redmond, OR) so we left yesterday heading west instead of north to cooler weather. We stopped in Indio, a lot of stuff that we brought into the coach that had to be put away and to rest up, Marlene spent most of the drive resting on the couch. We are staying for 2 nites at Shadow Hills RV Park. It is very lovely, well kept and empty. It's a PA park and summer rates are only $30/nite so it was only $30 for the 2 nites, including 50A, cable and wi-fi.

Was hoping to get some relief from Phoenix heat but it was only a degree or two cooler. The A/Cs have been working overtime. Unfortunately, the weather at our next planned stop in Valencia is for 100? also. Sure hope the heat breaks on our way up the coast.

Great news that you're on the road Bernie. What's your route/schedule from Valencia?

Be sure to take care of Marlene!

Bernie,

That is indeed good news.  There's nothing worse for an RVer than be stuck where they don't want to be.  Best to Marlene.

We will spend a day in Valencia with family then head north, trying to hook up with the Lynchs in Santa Rosa. Then probably our usual suspects of Crescent City, Winchester Bay, Newport and then Silverton, OR by 8/6. We have a 3 day reservation at Silver Spur, a neat CG we stayed at a couple of years ago. Convenient to Salem, Eugene and Portland, with lots of good German butchers in the area so we can load up with Brats and Spaten before heading to FMCA-Redmond.

Everything we're doing is geared around taking care of Marlene :-*

Actually, we like being in Indio and Valencia, just not this time of year ::) ::)

Bernie,

It looks like the Interstate 5 corridor in Northern Cal will be from 100? to 110? through Sunday. Santa Rosa is shown to be 90? the next few days and we will be back there today.
