Have been spending a rainy week in Missoula,Mt (waiting out weather HAHA and MemorialDayWeek-end).  Will be leaving here Jun 1 headed for W.Glacier area.  If any one has any recommendations or DON'Ts in ColumbiaFalls ~ HungryHorse area PLEASE pass them on. Thinking of 'RockyMountainHiRV' ??

Thanks in advance

Take your chains, snowshoes and parkas. It could be very cold and snowy there.

Tom I am only 120 miles to the south of there right now ~~ NO blizzard warnings in the offing ~~ Thanks anyway.  K

Not talking about 'Going to the Sun" road for a week or so.  Not even going to the ColumbiaFalls~HungryHorse area til next week.  Appeared 60/40 NOAA

Well maybe you should look at a weather report. They are calling for snow for the next two days up there with a high of 40.http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=glacier%20national%20park&wuSelect=WEATHER The Going to the Sun highway is rarely open before the Fourth of July.
Although they do get their share of snow & the clearing of the Going to the Sun Road is a major accomplishment each year, the latest it has opened is the 23rd of June since 1970.  Earliest  - 16 may. Average date over the same period is June 7th.  Check the chart in the middle of This Page.
