I use it on my guitar, but I have never tried to eat my guitar, so I don't know how it tastes.

Have you recently moved to a lower altitude?  Maybe the icreased air pressure has made it harder for your beard..............Oh, never mind.

I hate those morning self sacrifices  had a beard for most of my life 
hair growth about that same  now at 66 yrs old .. my memory could be falty  :-)
