Hello All,

Went on another all day tour: Highlights of Louisville.  Visited the Kentucky Derby Museum. Rode a "horse", came in 6th.  Terry rode and came in first.

I was very disappointed that we were not able to visit  any of Churchill Downs as advertised.  Seems a big  rock concert,  Hullabalou is setting up for a 3 day concert and we were not allowed on grounds.  A bit of grumbling on the  91 passenger tour as we were informed The Rally Organizers knew of this  some 2 months prior and  yet we were not informed.  I could have driven the car over yesterday.  You can bet "Someone" will be getting a letter from me. I don't suppose anyone will be giving me free ticket to see Bonjovi either as a substitute.

After a  wonderful lunch at Marks Mar B que we had an informative tour of the Louisville Slugger baseball  bat factory.  I am now so much better informed about bats!   I'll make a good party conversationalist with my trivia. Plus we got two free bats.  Can't take them on a plane though....oh wait we don't fly anywhere!   When do ball players use pink bats?

We arrived back on grounds around 3 pm which gave us time  to tour the vendors  in a not so crowded time frame.  Bought a garlic/cheese grater thingy and some Miracle cloths to clean my glasses.

Got back to  coach  and the thermometer inside read 99.7.  But with the new $902 dollar inverter,   she is cooling right down.

I will be having  lunch at the day stage area at noon on Saturday 7/ 24  if any RVForum  members want to join me.  It is close to Food court things. Tables in back row.  We should try to have at least a meet and greet of  Bob N Sue, Rick and Nancy  and others?  I'll wear my red ball cap with  rhinestones so you know who to look for. Or if anyone else  has another idea post away!

Just a reminder and second posting in case you missed this buried in my post yesterday.

First I am going to digital camera features, then microwave cooking, then lunch.  Hope to see some Forum Members at the air conditioned  Day Stage.

10% parts & labor..... Can you believe how much trouble I would have been in if it failed in Monument Valley or some other desolate place I frequent. I don't believe many repair places would have a Generator Inverter on hand.

After we get out of Kentucky their budget crisis should be over.<G>    New shocks today & front tires Mon.

Betty,

That rally sounds like the one they had in Ames, Iowa! It was so hot they rescinded the no generator rule at night. We ran them 24 hours. Unfortunately, Bernie had a propane generator at the time and had to make a few trips to refuel. :) It was brutal and wet. Maybe they'll wake up and do the same for you.

They did that 2 days ago... We are running 24 hrs a day... at 11:30 am it's 96 deg & 60% humidity.  The 5th wheel in front of me just pulled out, he only had a Honda EU2000 & it wouldn't power his A/C..... I don't know how he slept at night.

We only had a 30 gallon tank, 24 net, and made 3 trips into town to refuel. And our CO detector wouldn't shut up. That was our first FMCA convention, what a welcome :'(

Bernie and Wendy,

We are indeed "saving" money to spend in  Redmond.  We had planned to get new tires at Les Schwab in Oregon as ours  are  6 years old.  BUT  we hit something and gouged a big piece of rubber out of drivers front tire just before arriving  in ST Louis.  It goes thump thump thump down the road like an expansion joint on a highway might sound. We did not feel comfortable driving on it for 2,000 miles  SO we are  purchasing 2 front tires  here in Loiusville on Monday morning.  We will buy the  4 rear tires in Junction City at Les Schwab.  Already have the tire appt.  8/6.   Ka ching, ka ching, ka ching.

Bernie,

Yeah, a small tank sure does drain fast! I felt sorry for you each time you had to move. It's one rally I won't forget! When we moved to Sam's Club the last night so we wouldn't get bogged down in mud in the morning the heat was twice as intense due to the hot black top!!!

Today we had a cool meet and greet. I got to put  faces to names.  I met Rick and Nancy, new fulltimers.  I encouraged them to come to some RVForum rallies.  They were busy shopping here at their first rally.  I was also shopping at my umpty umpth  rally.  New silicone microwave cookware today and a new American made flag.

Tonight was  A Neil Daimond Act.  Lots of good music but not Neil.

Help me recall, didn't we hear the real Neil Diamond at a  recent FMCA event?

I will attend a laundry seminar in morning to learn how NOT to get wrinkles in Splendide washer dryer combos  so stay tuned for those details!

Pat wants to know what you learn about the Spendide.

Your temps sure are way too hot. It was 34 here this morning and will probably be around 80 this afternoon.

I learned much from my seminar on  Wrinkle Free RV Laundry this morning. See my post in Homemaking.

Today is the last day  of The Rally and rigs are leaving in droves.  Tonight's entertainment is a Talent Show of  participants and we won't be attending.  I am fixing dinner in the rig and we will leave  early morning to head for nearby Huber Tires for two new front tires.

Terry went to  a Generator roundtable seminar and came home with  parts.  I spent the day sorting  maps , papers and ads .  Mostly I just threw them  away.  It was not quite as humid today but temps still read 91.

Another Rally under our belt. I missed sitting outside and  Happy hours with Forum friends but weather did not support  socializing.

I look forward to  Redmond in two short weeks.

Yeah, low 80s with low humidity sounds lovely. We're in the 80s with rain every day which makes my lawn happy, happy.

Bernie,

We were at Siskiyou RV World in Medford a week ago Friday. It was in the 90's.

Plan on return to Southern Oregon and the coast in September. Hope it has cooled off a bit.

I'm seeing a lot of RVs on the road this morning.  Everyone homeward or otherwise bound, I suppose.  Hope you all had a great time in Louisville, except the heat of course.  That has been brutal this year.  We're now officially 42 days over 90 this summer.  We just expect to go outside, hit the "wall" and get wet and hot immediately, yet the work goes on.

Be safe on the road!  This morning I saw a class A pulling a toad.  He (or she) had no clue about the length of his rig.  I watched that driver repeatedly cut off people as he merged back into the right lane.  Twice cars actually hit the shoulder trying to get out of his way.  That doesn't give us a good reputation...   :-\
