Opinions on a Jayco Jay Series 1207?

We are looking at purchasing a Jayco Jay Series 1207 but are new to the RV world.  Is this a good tent trailer or is there a better brand to look at in the $10,000 or under range? We'd be using it for light off-road/back country in the late Spring, Summer and early Fall times.  We have 2 young kids and 2 dogs if that helps.  We mostly are looking to make sure this brand is of good quality.  Any information would be helpful.  Thanks.
 
I have a 96 model 1206 and love it. I bought it used and it had some roof damage I repaired. As far as quality this thing is 14yrs old the canvas is all in good shape all appliances work and it rolls nice. If you are going to use it off road be cautious of the amount of clearance you have as the model I have is quite close to the ground and the previous owner had broken off the tube that drains the gray water tank for the shower after catching it on something.
