First a maurading bear, now maurading "killer" men in this story. Already burned one camper in NM, haveing killed the owners. Armed and dangerous. 
See the article, here. I do think these guys could be a threat to the safety of campers. A slightly elevated sense of awareness should be all that is needed. Fright/fear, in my opinion, would be an over-reaction. They are going to want to hide, not go around growling, slashing people, burning campers and motorhomes.
