In the mail last week, we received a letter from Fleetwood, regarding our 2010 Bounder on a Ford F-53 Chassis. This letter was entitled, "IMPORTANT PRODUCT UPGRADE INFORMATION #10199frv"

It is to:

Install a protective material to prevent damage to the engine oil fill hose.

The oil fill hose of the Ford F53 chassis may be in contact with sharp or rough edges of the floow and may become damaged, possibly resulting in an oil leak, an error in the emissions system, and engine damage.

This affects "certain model year 2009, 2010 and 2011 Class A motor homes."

The reason I'm posting this is that we put our Bounder in the shop today to get oil, lube and filter done, as well as the recall, or "product upgrade." It turns out that our filler hose is so badly perforated they wouldn't let us drive it out of the shop until it is replaced, along with the "protective material" being installed, saying it is a "safety issue"  -- not that I wanted to drive it out before the repair; far from it.
