Linda and I will not be able to attend the annual RV Forum Quartzsite rally this year. I return "home" from a 12 day stay at the hospital a few days ago and need to get some strength back before any future trips. Please remove our names from the sign up list. We hope to see everyone next year.

This has not started out as a very good year. First, we missed the Catalina SP Rally because Linda was not feeling well and then I developed a small bowel obstruction on News Years Day and went to the hospital on January 3rd. I came very close to the surgeon?s knife but the obstruction resolved itself after a little over a week. I can not believe how 12 days in the hospital has wiped me out.

After having attended the forum Quartzsite rally for many, many years, I now find that I only recognize 17 of the 42 rigs in attendance.

I think that's a wonderful indication of the forum embracing all new members and continuing the fun and adventures.  Here's wishing you all a happy framily get-together!  I can hardly wait to hear what Betty has up her sleeve for you this year.  Please post lots of pictures!

We planned on arriving today but with the high wind warning (up to 70 mph gusts), we decided to just stay put at Salton Sea (light breezes) and drive to Qtz tomorrow.

We have all the stuff we need for name badges and with the list of attendees, it looks like we'll need those name badges ! See Mike at Happy Hour and we'll get them printed out for those in need because:

Sorry to hear you were in the hospital. I can relate to your experience having been there a few times. Hope you are doing well now. It doesn't take long for a hospital to sap your strength. I found getting out of the room and walking vigorously helped with the discharge procedure. Still takes time to get to that point!

I'm still up here in San Francisco, and will likely be here for a few more days.  With luck I'll be able to get back to Quartzsite before the end of the week, then head on up to Death Valley.

What we're doing is moving San Francisco's Classical radio station (KDFC) to new studios and new frequencies.  Entercom sold the classical format to Classical Public Radio Network, a new company under the asupices of southern CA's classical radio station KUSC.  KDFC's present frequency will be used simulcast Entercom's San Jose rock station starting tomorrow.  This will give them full coverage of the San Francisco-San Jose market on two frequencies, 98.5 in the south bay and 102.1 in the north.

KDFC and it's classical format is moving to two smaller signals, 88.9 in the Napa valley and parts of the north bay and 90.3 in San Francisco.  They're hoping to expand to a third signal in the San Jose area sometime in the future.

It's been a lot of hard work, but my bank account is very happy!
