On Monday Nancy tore the rotator cuff in her right shoulder. Real bad. Took her to the ER, who referred us to a local joint specialist.  That's bad enough, but the MRI image of the joint showed even worse news: cancer in the joint itself. It appears the doctors were overly optimistic about having removed all the previous cancer and it has been eating away at the shoulder joint.  :(

We are really bummed out, as you might well imagine.  Will head back to Florida next week and yet another round of cancer treatments. Can't even get the torn cuff fixed first because the cancer is right in there.

On the [very small] plus side, the new cancer is discovered now, so it can be treated. Hoping it hasn't spread too far...

Gary and Nancy,

Bleak news indeed.  Sending  prayers and hugs your way for another speedy recovery.  Cancer aside, those torn rotator cuffs are miserably painful,  plus you can't use that arm for anything.  Tough news.

Keep us posted so we know exactly what to ask  for in our prayers.

Very sad news indeed.  Nancy, and you, will stay on our prayer list for as long as it takes.

Gary and Nancy... so sorry to hear the terrible news.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you both for a safe journey and speedy recovery.

Sorry to hear that news, you two deserve better.  Hopefully they can get it all this time.  We'll be thinking of you and Nancy.

We're so sorry, Gary and Nancy.  That's every survivor's worst nightmare.  Loving thoughts and prayers go out to you.  She's such a fighter, I just know she can whip it again.

My daughter's HS marching band is doing a cancer tribute, called the Ribbon Project,  for this years show.  I will put Nancy's name on the banner if it is alright with you.

Oh dear, more bad news. We're so sorry to hear that Gary. We're praying that they get it this time around, and that Nancy can get the the rotator cuff taken of. As others have said or implied, you and Nancy have had a string of really bad luck, and you both deserve better.

Sorry is not a strong enough word to express how we all feel right now.  Give our love to Nancy, and let her know we are all pulling for her.

Gary & Nancy:

We are so sorry to hear the terrible news. Our prayers are added to the others that it all works out well.

Thanks to all for the support.  Friends like we have here are the best and help us get through the hard times. You have all been wonderful through our various trials.

And yes, Charlie, her name on the banner would be much appreciated.
